The Fisherman And The Cherry Tree

The Tree And The Cherry Tree was a short story that I wrote on 22nd July, 2021. I cannot recall what prompted me to write it - whether I was thinking of loss at the time, I don't remember now. But as so often happens, whenever an idea forms itself, the flows of creation begin, I become lost in the 'zone' and the story writes itself.

The Cherry Tree's story is an allegory on life and more specifically, loss. That loss is not final, it is just another step along the long road that is life. During every life, there will inevitably be loss. It is part of the cycle of life - a necessary component - albeit one that can create a lot of pain and heartbreak.

But as the tree in the story discovers, loss is not forever. Given enough time, new growth will form and appear. Life begins again and the story goes ever on.
